Holidays and more Holidays

Well we are back from our holiday in Dunsborough and I am feeling a teeny bit annoyed to be back so soon but we had a great holiday and I shouldn't whinge as we get more holidays away then most people.

We had a beautiful time away. Lot's of great foods which included - curry (nomnomnom), flavoured olive oil tastings (which was amazing especially the Parmesan) fettucine, roasts, Brooke's maccaroni, venison and wine tastings.

We showed little Imogen all around Dunsborough and I loved taking her there for her first holiday. Going to Dunsborough is something which has been passed down through my family and I know it is a dinky little place but the beaches are too good to pass up on and I love the quietness. We took heaps of walks and drank lot's of beautiful red wine.

The first two days down there I was exhausted. I have suffered a little bit of insomnia latley which seems to have passed now but I was very very tired and was finding it very hard to sleep which was a P in the A. I finally bit the bullet and took a sleeping tablet and had the best sleep ever and felt pretty good ever since.

We got back two days ago which was a pretty horrid little day. We all hate leaving and packing up sucked. Unpacking when we got home was even worse. There was so much washing to do and the weather here is wet so goodluck getting it dry. Today I hit the house chores big time and I have done most of it though. I have also scrubbed my kitchen cupboards and sorted through some of the crap that has been building up in our house.

One thing I have definatley gotten from my father is my ability to throw stuff out. I HATE with a passion clutter. If I think something doesn't need to be in our house I just bin it. I sometimes get in trouble for doing this though with Adam when he starts looking for something and I realise I have put it in the bin. Ooops.

Before we went away I also gave Adam a little surprise that has him very excited, I bought him a trip to bali. All the boys are going and I think a trip away with the boys would be great for him so I got them in on my sly little plan and managed to get him going away on the same flight, hotel, etc. with them. Will be a great trip and I am slightly jealous!!

On the Imogen side of things she has really loved being around so many people for the week we were away. She has since the holiday turned into Miss Chatterbox. She ooohhs and ahhhs at us all the time now and we just love it! Every morning now I am awoken by Imogen talking away to herself. There is really no better sound. Today I started her on rusks and she really loves them. They are a great shape for her to hold and she is starting to get a bit more coordinated and can get objects to and from her mouth so she has no problem gumming away on them.

We took many photo's of Imogen on our holiday so here you go!

Where have I been?

I have been on holidays!

I have posts coming shortly. We just got back yesterday and I can not quite keep up with the amount of jobs I have to do along with entertaining our little one who has become Miss Chatterbox 2010 since we went away.

Also yes, my blog is a mess at the moment. Before we went on our holiday I tried to make some changes and it was all pretty disasterous. Im not the best with html codes but I am slowly getting there. I have some more trials to do so bare with me while I do them. I am definatley considering paying someone to fix up my blog really nice for me though.

Stay tuned..

Imogen's Trip to the Park

Last weekend we took Imogen to Kings Park. It was her first time and we were so excited to take her for her first sit on some nice green grass.

We sat near Lycopod Island which is an awesome spot to take your children. They have great play equipment for the children and it gets so busy on the weekends.

Imogen was really good the whole time. She really enjoyed her time with mummy and daddy and it was a beautiful day. A wonderful time was had by us all. See below for the photos.

In Imogen news.. she is really starting to notice the world around her. She is really noticing everything. And her hands, well she has discovered that they belong to her and is really using them to reach out and grab her toys. She is getting a little bit of coordination to put things in her mouth and is able to pull her dummy out of her mouth. She tries to get it back in but isn't always succesfull at it! :)

I really want to get her a exercauser and I am tooing and froing on which one to get and wether to hire or buy one. I am leaning towards hiring at the moment. They have a good deal on at the Hire Store near us and it saves us the money that we really don't have on buying one.

Video Lovers - This is For You!

So Imogen is approaching the five month mark and I have so many lovely photo's of her. I adore taking photo's of our baby. She is too adorable and always does the most breath taking things that has me once again grabbing my camera out and getting all snap happy. So over the past few days I have made a video on our baby girl's ALMOST five months with us so far. I will add to it in a few more months.

Water Baby

So today Brooke and I took our special little girl swimming.
She was scared at first and looked very worried about the huge amount of water she was approaching but after being in the pool for five minutes she seemed to enjoy it a fair bit. I think in a few more visits to the pool she will love it. Just as she loves the bath.

I remember that I was meant to update on Imogen's sleeping. Well since swaddling her very snugly and topping her up with rice cereal and milk before bed she seems to be sleeping alot better. Although last night was not a very good night for her as she woke up screaming twice. I think it may have been a bad dream and I hope tonight is better as I am exhausted after our day out today and could really use some sleep.

Monday Madness

I always thought I was the type of person or rather, Mother, who would only want one child for a while. The thought of more then one baby was always a bit much for someone such as myself.

When I was pregnant with Imogen I was always saying just one for a few years until she is old enough to be going off to school and then I would consider another child.

HOWEVER, Imogen is now here and yes the first month was rough, but now that I am used to being a parent I find myself getting a teeny weeny bit clucky once again. Having Adam giving me a little smile and then saying to me in a whiny voice "Let's have annnnoooottthhheerrr" whenever a baby advertisement comes on the telly doesn't help either. Neither does seeing expectant mothers stroking their bellies at Babies 'R' Us which is a store I frequent.

Being pregnant is really so special and there are many people who are unable to experience this wonderful time in a women's life. I am SO thankful to be able to carry children and experience the wonders of pregnancy and birth.

Straight after Imogen's birth I very loudly announced to everyone within earshot that I wasn't doing that again before going into major shutdown mode. And yes it was so full on and I was a mess for a few hours afterwards, although it didn't take long for me to return to the land of normal.

Now though, I don't really mind the thought of doing it again. Obviously there are certain parts of it I would love to skip altogether but we must take the good with the bad. And the good far outweighs the bad. There is NO better feeling in the world then when your child you carried for nine months is put on your chest for the first time. Looking into their eyes for the first time. That amazingly special bond I instantly felt with Imogen.

But really am I READY for pregnancy and another child just yet? I don't know. In fact I doubt it. It would probably be very unwise to do anything about it for a while.

I do miss the kicks I used to get though. The prods to be reminded that they are still around when you do something that takes your mind off them for a few minutes.

But for the now we love our family of three, plus Sweepy!

Plan D to Save Our Sleep

In the attempt for our family to grab more then just a few winks tonight we are now onto Plan D.

Plan A: Take out any fruity foods from Imogen's diet, according to our community health nurse the fruit acids may be upsetting her stomach causing her to wake up so time - so far no change however we have still kept the fruity foods out of her diet for now.

Plan B: Put Imogen down at 11pm and see if the later bed time helps her sleep. FAIL. Major screaming happened in this plan.

Plan C: Pack Imogen full of milk only that day, see if taking out food altogether helps her. No difference.

Plan D: Tonight's plan - Give Imogen her usual two teaspoons of rice ceral, top her up with milk, swaddle her tightly and then tuck her very snuggly into her cot to make sure she cannot get out of her swaddle like she usually does. So far all is well and I really hope I am not dooming our sleep by saying this.

Off to bed now to see how the night pans out...

Ill keep you posted!
